All-in-one hybrid inverter and LiFePO₄ battery storage with modular capacity, professionally installed by a local Sydney team.
If you are looking to add battery storage to a Sydney home or business, PROBEC Solar can assess your existing solar system, recommend a suitable ESY Sunhome solution, and manage the installation from start to finish.

An ESY solar battery stores electricity generated by your solar panels so you can use more of that energy later, rather than sending all of your surplus generation to the grid.
ESY Sunhome develops residential and commercial energy storage systems, including its HM range of all-in-one home energy storage products. Its Australian operation is based in Greenacre, NSW.
For Sydney households, the idea is fairly straightforward. Solar generation is strongest during the day, while household electricity use continues into the evening. A battery helps bridge that gap.
PROBEC Solar has been operating since 2018 and provides solar and battery solutions for homes and businesses across NSW, Victoria, and Queensland.
An ESY battery energy storage system stores electricity produced by solar panels so it can be used later when solar generation is lower.
The process works like this:
This is known as solar self-consumption. Instead of exporting every spare unit of solar electricity, you have the option of storing some of it for later use.
The ESY Sunhome system combines the battery and hybrid inverter into one integrated unit. That makes the overall setup different from a conventional arrangement where separate battery and inverter products are installed together.
The HM Series is built around an all-in-one design that combines the inverter and modular battery storage into a single system. The range uses LiFePO₄ battery technology and supports stackable battery modules.
That integrated approach has a practical advantage. You are dealing with a single system rather than trying to coordinate two separate brands for the main battery and inverter components.
The system also includes app-based monitoring, allowing users to view information such as household load, grid conditions and battery status.
The HM Series has an IP66-rated enclosure, providing protection against dust and water ingress. An IP rating does not replace proper installation. Battery placement still needs to comply with applicable Australian requirements, including AS/NZS 5139.
This is worth checking before choosing any battery.
An ESY system includes its own hybrid inverter, so adding one to an existing solar installation is not always a simple battery add-on. Depending on your current inverter, system configuration and condition, the new system may be AC-coupled, or the existing inverter may be replaced.
PROBEC Solar can assess this during the site and system review rather than making assumptions based solely on the age of the solar panels.

Two numbers are particularly important when comparing batteries:
They are not the same thing. A 6kW inverter does not mean the battery stores 6kWh.
The ESY Sunhome Hm6 is a single-phase all-in-one residential energy storage system with a 6kW inverter. It uses modular 5.12kWh battery units, with configurations ranging from 5.12kWh to 30.72kWh. Up to six battery modules can be stacked in the system.
Model | Phase | Output | Capacity |
HM6-05 | Single-phase | Up to 5kW | 5.12kWh |
HM6-10 | Single-phase | Up to 6kW | 10.24kWh |
HM6-15 | Single-phase | Up to 6kW | 15.36kWh |
HM6-20 | Single-phase | Up to 6kW | 20.48kWh |
HM6-25 | Single-phase | Up to 6kW | 25.60kWh |
HM6-30 | Single-phase | Up to 6kW | 30.72kWh |
ESY also offers other HM models, including higher-output single-phase and three-phase systems. The current product range includes HM5, HM6, HM5-MAX, HM10, HM12, HM10-H, HM15 and HM20.
The right battery depends on more than the size of your solar array.
PROBEC can consider your:
A battery that is too large may not be fully utilised, while a smaller system may leave more solar energy available for export. There is no useful universal size for every Sydney home.

An ESY home battery can be worth considering if your home already has solar and exports a noticeable amount of electricity during the day, then uses more power later.
It may also make sense when an older solar inverter is approaching replacement. In that situation, combining the inverter and battery into a single new system may be worth investigating.
For homes with a newer inverter that is performing well, the decision is less straightforward. AC coupling may be possible, but it depends on the existing equipment and the proposed system.
For larger properties and businesses, ESY Sunhome also offers three-phase options, including the HM10-H, HM15, and HM20, with capacities up to 90kWh.
Storing surplus solar gives you another option for using electricity generated during the day. For many households, this is the main reason to consider a battery.
The HM Series combines the hybrid inverter and battery modules into a single system, with monitoring via the ESY Sunhome platform.
The modular design allows storage capacity to be built around the property’s needs. The HM6, for example, can be configured from 5.12kWh to 30.72kWh.
Backup operation is available as part of the system design, but the actual backup arrangement depends on configuration. Essential circuits, available capacity and installation requirements should all be considered before installation.
The ESY Sunhome app provides visibility of generation, household consumption, electricity prices and battery status.
Battery storage is not only a residential product.
Sydney offices, retail premises, hospitality businesses, light industrial sites and other commercial properties can consider ESY energy storage where the load profile makes sense.
The important point is timing. A business operating mainly during daylight hours may consume much of its solar generation directly. Another business with evening trading, refrigeration, early starts, or weekend operations may have a different storage requirement.
For commercial properties, demand charges and outage continuity can also form part of the assessment. The three-phase HM range provides larger system options where required.
Our process is designed to be smooth and stress-free:
01
We discuss your current solar system, electricity use and what you want the battery to achieve.
03
The team checks the switchboard, supply type, solar inverter, available installation area and other technical requirements.
03
Battery capacity and inverter output are selected around your actual usage rather than a generic package.
04
The system is installed, tested and commissioned according to applicable Australian requirements.
05
PROBEC can help configure monitoring and provide guidance on using the system after installation.
Warranty terms should always be checked against the current Australian warranty document for the exact model being purchased.
For HM5 and HM6 products, ESY Sunhome’s published Australian warranty documentation sets out both a warranty period and minimum throughput requirements. The manufacturer’s current documentation also specifies capacity-retention conditions and installation requirements.
The important lesson is simple: do not compare batteries on the headline warranty number alone. Check capacity retention, throughput, installation conditions, registration requirements and who handles support.
The PROBEC Solar team can explain these points as part of the quotation process.
The HM Series uses LiFePO₄ battery chemistry and has an IP66 protection rating. ESY Sunhome’s technical documentation also lists battery protection features and compliance with relevant safety standards.
ESY also promotes built-in fire-extinguishing protection on the HM6 product page.
Even with these built-in protections, installation matters. Battery systems need to be positioned and installed according to Australian standards and manufacturer requirements. Good design is not something to leave until the day the installer arrives.
There is no honest single figure for how much a battery will save every household.
Solar generation, electricity consumption, evening usage, battery capacity, tariffs and battery utilisation all affect the outcome. A system that charges from surplus solar and is used later in the day will behave differently from one that rarely reaches a useful charge level.
That is why PROBEC Solar will assess your electricity usage and existing solar system before recommending a configuration. Your own data is more useful than a generic savings calculator.
The ESY Sunhome battery price depends on the model, storage capacity, existing solar equipment, installation requirements, switchboard work and the overall system design.
For that reason, a fixed online price can be misleading. The HM6 alone is available in several capacity configurations from 5.12kWh to 30.72kWh.
PROBEC Solar will provide a written quote based on your actual property and energy requirements.
PROBEC Solar has been operating since 2018 and provides solar and battery solutions across NSW, Victoria and Queensland. The company holds NSW Electrical Contractor Licence 479785C and is listed as a New Energy Tech Approved Seller.
The team also installs batteries from different brands. That matters because the best battery for one property is not the best choice for another.
The service covers assessment, system design, installation, approvals and post-installation support. The goal is fairly simple: recommend equipment that fits the property rather than forcing the property to fit a particular product.

PROBEC Solar provides battery services across Greater Sydney and surrounding NSW areas.
Sydney homes can have very different energy patterns. Strong daytime solar generation, combined with afternoon and evening air-conditioning use, can make storage worth investigating. Network requirements and export limits can also vary, so approvals are part of the design process rather than an afterthought.
Thinking about an ESY battery for your Sydney home or business? Start with an assessment rather than guessing the right size.
PROBEC can review your existing solar system, electricity usage and supply type, then recommend a suitable model and capacity with a clear written quote.
