Modular high-voltage LiFePO₄ battery storage for Sydney homes and businesses, installed by a licensed local team.
Thinking about adding a battery to your solar system? PROBEC Solar can help you choose a suitable SAJ battery solution based on your current system, electricity use, and future requirements. We assess the property, check equipment compatibility, arrange the installation, and provide ongoing support.

An SAJ battery stores excess solar energy generated during the day to be used later.
For many Sydney homes, this can be useful because solar production is highest during the middle of the day, while electricity use often increases later in the afternoon and evening.
SAJ, or Guangzhou Sanjing Electric, has been producing solar inverters and energy storage products since 2005. The company operates in Australia through SAJ Australia Pty Ltd, which was established in 2019.
PROBEC Solar has been working with solar and battery systems since 2018. We install battery solutions for homes and small businesses across Sydney and other parts of NSW.
The basic idea is simple. Instead of sending all your unused solar electricity back to the grid, some of it can be stored and used when your panels are producing less energy.
An SAJ battery is a modular energy storage system that stores electricity produced by solar panels for later use.
During the day, your solar panels generate electricity. Your home uses what it needs first. If there is extra energy available, the battery can be charged with the surplus.
Later, when solar production falls, stored energy can be supplied to the property.
The system can include several main components:
SAJ offers both modular battery systems, such as the B2 and B2S, and integrated All-in-One solutions, including the newer EK70 HS5 series. The B2 and B2S batteries are designed to work with compatible SAJ hybrid inverter equipment, while the EK70 HS5 combines key energy storage components into an All-in-One solution.
This is why equipment compatibility needs to be checked before installation when adding a battery to an existing solar system.
Battery storage can also increase solar self-consumption. Instead of sending surplus solar back to the grid during the day, you have the option of using more of that energy later.
SAJ offers different battery and energy storage configurations for residential applications. These include the B2 and B2S high-voltage battery systems and the EK70 HS5 All-in-One solution.
The B2 HV is a stackable LiFePO₄ battery system designed to work with compatible SAJ hybrid inverters.
Some of its practical features include:
This type of system can suit homeowners who want to start with a suitable battery size while keeping the option to add storage later.
The B2S HV is a newer high-voltage battery series with higher charge and discharge capability.
The series supports a 1C charge and discharge rate. In simple terms, this means the battery can charge or discharge at around its stated capacity over an hour, subject to the complete system design.
The B2S also supports stack expansion and parallel configurations for larger requirements. Remote firmware updates are available on supported systems.
Installation can be indoors or outdoors where permitted by the manufacturer’s specifications and Australian installation requirements.
The SAJ EK70 HS5 is an All-in-One residential energy storage solution designed to combine solar generation, battery storage and energy management within one integrated system. SAJ currently lists the EK70 HS5 as part of its HS5 Series All-in-One range, with Australian product documentation available.
The EK70 HS5 uses LiFePO₄ battery technology and is available in configurations designed for different residential energy requirements. The system is modular, allowing the battery capacity to be configured according to the selected system and installation requirements.
As an integrated solution, the EK70 HS5 can simplify the system design compared with installing separate battery and inverter components. It can also form part of a wider SAJ energy ecosystem that includes solar generation, energy storage, EV charging and energy management.
The exact EK70 configuration depends on the property, required capacity, electrical system and applicable installation requirements. PROBEC Solar can assess whether the EK70 HS5 or another SAJ battery configuration is suitable for your home.
The B2 HV can be a practical option for straightforward residential storage.
The B2S HV may be more appropriate where higher charge and discharge performance, greater capacity or additional expansion is required.
The EK70 HS5 may suit homeowners looking for an integrated All-in-One energy storage solution rather than separate battery and inverter components.
The right choice depends on the inverter, solar system, energy usage and available installation space.

Battery size should be based on how a property actually uses electricity.
A larger battery is not automatically a better battery.
SAJ batteries use stackable modules, so capacity is built in set increments.
The available capacity and system configuration vary between the B2, B2S and EK70 HS5 ranges. There are also two separate things to consider: the battery’s usable capacity and the output of the inverter.
For example, installing a larger battery does not mean the property can draw more power at once. The inverter still has its own output limit.
This is the reason battery and inverter selection should be considered together.
High-voltage and low-voltage batteries use different electrical configurations and are designed to work with different inverter systems.
For an SAJ installation, the battery needs to be matched with compatible equipment. This is important when an existing solar system is being upgraded.
PROBEC Solar considers several factors before recommending a battery:
Both undersizing and oversizing can be costly. A battery that is too small may leave a large amount of solar energy unused, while a battery that is too large may not receive enough surplus solar to operate efficiently on a regular basis.
Book a Free Battery Sizing Assessment to discuss your requirements.
A battery gives you another option for using surplus solar energy after the sun goes down. This can be useful for households with higher evening electricity consumption.
The modular design allows battery capacity to be increased later, provided the selected system supports additional modules. This can be useful if your electricity requirements change.
The B2S series offers a higher charge and discharge rate. When the system is designed accordingly, it can help the battery respond to greater energy demands.
The EK70 HS5 also uses a modular design, allowing the system configuration to be selected according to the home’s energy storage requirements.
Depending on the model and site conditions, SAJ batteries can be installed in wall-mounted or floor-standing configurations. The actual location still needs to comply with manufacturer requirements and AS/NZS 5139.
Some SAJ configurations can provide backup power during a grid outage. Backup is not automatic with every installation. It depends on the inverter, battery configuration and circuits included in the system design. The EK70 HS5 is also promoted by SAJ with whole-home backup functionality, subject to the selected configuration and installation design.
PROBEC can explain the available backup options during the assessment.
SAJ batteries can be suitable for homes that already have an SAJ system or are installing a complete SAJ solar-and-battery solution.
Homeowners can also consider an integrated SAJ solution such as the EK70 HS5 where an All-in-One system is preferred.
Existing systems from other manufacturers require more careful checking.
If your current inverter is incompatible with an SAJ battery, a replacement inverter may be required. In some cases, another battery brand may be a better option.
PROBEC Solar installs several battery brands, so we can look at the complete system rather than recommending SAJ because you started by asking about it.
Your property, switchboard, existing inverter, installation location and electricity use all matter.
Battery storage can also be considered by small businesses, offices, retail premises, workshops and other commercial properties.
The important question is how the business uses electricity.
A business operating mainly during daylight hours may already use much of its solar generation directly. Another business that operates into the evening could have a different storage requirement.
Larger SAJ battery configurations can be expanded using parallel battery stacks where supported by the system design.
For commercial properties, PROBEC Solar will assess the site’s load profile and operating hours before recommending a battery configuration.
We discuss your current solar system, electricity use and what you want the battery to achieve.
An installer checks the existing solar equipment, inverter, switchboard, available space and network requirements.
The inverter compatibility check is important for retrofit installations.
We recommend a suitable battery series and capacity based on your property. You’ll receive a written quote covering the proposed equipment and installation work.
Where applicable, government incentives are also considered.
Your SAJ battery installation Sydney is completed by appropriately accredited installers in accordance with relevant Australian requirements.
The system is then tested and commissioned.
Our team configures monitoring where applicable, completes the required documentation, and explains how the system works.
We can also assist with warranty-related questions after installation.

Battery warranties involve more than only a number of years.
They can include a warranty period, an energy throughput allowance and a minimum capacity retention requirement. The exact terms depend on the SAJ model installed.
Battery performance will naturally change over time. A warranty does not mean the battery will maintain its original capacity forever.
Installation, registration, and proper operation are also important conditions for warranty coverage.
There is a difference between the manufacturer’s product warranty and the installer’s workmanship warranty. The PROBEC Solar team will explain both before installation so you know what is covered.
SAJ creates its residential storage battery systems using LiFePO₄ (lithium iron phosphate) chemistry.
Each battery contains a battery management system, which helps in efficient monitoring and smooth operation management with protection features for electrical conditions.
Where the battery goes matters too. Australian Standard AS/NZS 5139 sets the rules for installing and positioning battery storage systems, so you can’t just put a battery wherever there’s space.
PROBEC Solar assesses the proposed location before installation and ensures the system is installed according to applicable requirements.
The value of a battery depends on how it is used.
Important factors include:
That’s why you may notice misleading figures in generic saving estimates. There may be a vast difference in output even if the two homes have the same battery because of different tariff plans and electricity usage.
The SAJ battery price also varies depending on the battery model, capacity, inverter requirements and installation work.
PROBEC uses your actual electricity information when preparing a system recommendation rather than relying on a standard battery size.
The Australian Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program began on 1 July 2025 under the governance of Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES).
Eligible small-scale battery installations can receive an upfront incentive, provided the system and installation meet the program’s requirements.
You will get the incentives based on the battery capacity and applicable scheme rules. It is best to check the eligibility at the time of buying because government schemes, programs and requirements tend to change over time.
For current information, homeowners should refer to the Australian Government’s official Clean Energy Regulator guidance and the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
You can also discuss any applicable incentives with PROBEC Solar installers as they prepare your quote.
PROBEC Solar has been working in the solar and battery industry since 2018.
Our credentials include:
Installing several battery brands is useful because not every battery suits every solar system.
If SAJ is the right match, we can install it. If another system makes more sense, we’ll explain why.
PROBEC battery installation services spread across Greater Sydney, that include Inner West areas, Hills District, Northern Beaches, Sutherland Shire, and Western Sydney.
Sydney homes have a practical approach. Solar output can be good in the summer season, while air conditioning uses more electricity in the afternoon and evening time.
Electricity export limits and network requirements vary depending on the distributor and property considerations.
We handle the relevant connection and installation requirements as part of the process.
